Coventry Court Supports Healthy Hearts

February is American Heart Month, and at Coventry Court, we want you to celebrate healthy hearts!

Did you know that according to the FDA, heart disease is the leading cause of death among women? Did you know that according to the CDC, one in four American women will die from heart disease? Did you know that heart disease is preventable? This February, we want you to learn more about heart health, what you can do to lower your risk of heart disease, and to share this valuable information with your loved ones.

Remember, big changes come in small steps! Read below to learn what you can do to lower your risks.

  1. Choose a healthy heart diet.
    Lower sodium intake, trans fats, and sugars for a healthier and happier heart.
  2. Keep track of your heart conditions.
    Monitor your blood pressure, sugar levels, and cholesterol may help heart conditions.
  3. Get the facts about aspirin.
    Ask your physician if taking aspirin is right for you. Some people are not able to take daily doses.
  4. Recognize signs of heart attacks.
    Identifiable signs of heart attacks may be different between men and women.
    These include:
    - heavy chest pain
    - cold sweats
    - nausea
